by PRIMA ABSOLUTA Vittorio Sgarbi made his debut at the La Versiliana Festival in the summer of 2015 with      “Caravaggio” theatrical show, with surprising temporal leaps, led the audience on a journe

illuminating inside the artistic and social bowels of Merisi. These events have revealed extraordinary 

premonitory phenomena of contemporaneity, the public bewitched by the unprecedented perception, and 

stimulated from the skilful mixture of story, images and sounds, he experienced the indissoluble communion 

with experience caravaggesca, a renewed experience in the sequels of the equally successful "Michelangelo" (Season 2017/18), 

"Leonardo" (Season 2018/19) and "Raffaello (Season 2019/20). The masterful performances of Vittorio 

Sgarbi han so far demonstrated how artists prior to our century have strongly influenced the way of 

perceiving the daily in which we are immersed. The fifth show on which the new investigation by Vittorio 

"Nazionale" focuses marks a surprising change of course, and doubling the protagonists puts the figure of 

DANTE at the center ALIGHIERI (Florence 1265 / Ravenna 1321) in an equal relationship with the 

contemporary GIOTTO DI BONDONE 

(Colle di Vespignano 1267 / Florence 1337). On March 25, 2021, the seventh centenary was celebrated around the world 

since Dante's death, the date has been identified by MIBAC through the National Committee for 

Celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the death of the Supreme Poet. Vittorio Sgarbi will celebrate Dante 

in his own way weaving unusual threads in the exchange with Giotto. Both eminent actors of a new 

cultural representation, the works of Dante and Giotto have conditioned the stylistic models to follow, 

influenced the philosophical, social and spiritual canons of the time, reaching us as essential fundamentals  

that we experience every day. The show premieres at the Manzoni Theater National.
